Why IPL is better than any other T20 Leagues in the world

IPL is better or T20 Leagues in the world is Better in Cricket world. Cricket is one of the popular sports in the world and those who love cricket, mostly love Indian Premier League too(IPL).

The IPL has been around for more than a decade now and since then, a lot of new cash-rich, franchise-based T20 leagues were announced, however, none of them could match the popularity and the profit of the Indian Premier League.

In fact, BCCI revealed that IPL must happen every year so that they can keep paying their contracted cricketers. Thus, IPL is probably the most important league in the world. Even the pandemic couldn’t stop the league as according to BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal, IPL 2020 earned revenues of ₹4,000 crores, reduced costs by 35%, and increased viewership by 25%.

Why IPL is better than any other T Leagues in the world

Let’s go through the major reasons why IPL is better than any other T20 league in the world.

Availability of marquee players:

Indian Premier League is the only place where we can find stars like Chris Lynn being benched for who will win today’s match. This shows the number of marquee players available in the tournament. Every single franchise is filled with a plethora of players irrespective of their age, talent.

Standard of the game:

One must understand that there is a lot of difference between those who represent the country and those who are new and have played only backyard cricket. You call the latter raw talent, those who are yet to be molded. Most of the T20 leagues feature cricketers who are just talents. As mentioned earlier, IPL is full of talents and even major players get benched.

This shows the standard of the tournament as IPL is better.  One can easily form a strong playing eleven from the players available at the bench. Even the coaches are some of the best in the world.

Favorite players playing in the same team:

For most of us, it is a dream to watch our favorite cricketers play the game together. To watch some of the rivals playing together in one team is a dream as well. Earlier when Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly came together for Kolkata Knight Riders, the viewership got better.

When Andrew Symonds and Harbhajan Singh played for the same team, the viewership doubled and today, watching AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli bat is a dream for most of us.

The cash

A few countries don’t eat and breathe cricket as India do. For them, cricket is more like 3rd or 4th national sport. This means the investment and the salary are way too less than what BCCI and Indian players receive.

So, at times, the cricketers have to make a tough decision of prioritizing IPL because of the money. Thus, they are ready to make an appearance irrespective of the schedule clash.

IPL schedule

T20 franchise cricket happens all around the world. Most of them clash with the international schedule. Thankfully, there are no games with major teams during the IPL time. This allows users to watch IPL alone and most importantly, it allows overseas players to stay until the end of the tournament.

Pool of talent

More than any other tournament, IPL has unearthed a lot of talents who went on to represent the country from nowhere. Not only the Indian players but also many overseas players got into the national team after their performance in the IPL season.

Players like Natarajan, Rahul Tewatia got a call-up after their IPL performance. Similarly, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller are the few overseas cricketers who made their debut or come back.

It’s the only league with Indian marquee players

As per BCCI rules, any Indian player contracted or non-contracted, is not allowed to play any franchise cricket (T20, T10) outside India. This means, active Indian cricketers, cannot participate in leagues like BBL or Vitality Blast.

Since this is the only league where we can watch Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma taking on bowlers. In a way, this is a careful measure from BCCI to protect the Indian players as that’s one of their USP.

If Indians were allowed to join and their dream11 prediction today in a different league, there won’t be any difference between the Indian Premier League and other major leagues. However, retired cricketers can play for other country leagues.

Women’s T20 Challenge

Though other countries are well ahead of India when it comes to women’s cricket, India is still in the growing stage but if BCCI President Sourav Ganguly fulfills his promise of making a full-fledged women’s IPL,

The standard of the tournament will be increased which makes IPL is better than the T20 match. Here again, the more considering the number of the crowd the latest Indian women’s series were able to pull off.

Conclusion

Really its IPL is better. It’s been only a few years since IPL has started, it has already caught up with the frontrunners of the global sporting leagues such as EPL among others.

Right from the salary cap for the players to the broadcast rights figures fuelled by the millions of viewers. Even during the pandemic, the tournament went well and was able to generate huge profit while most of the other country’s franchise tournaments had to be stopped.
